Nankumba Peninsula Strategic Plan

Establishment of a community based strategic plan for a SADC/GEF-supported project for biodiversity conservation of the Nankumba Peninsula (which includes the Lake Malawi National Park) – an area identified for attention due to weak community participation in environmental protection and the heightened risks of conflict from growing poverty and population pressures.  Harewelle provided a team of consultants to draw up the plan, providing expertise and inputs in the fields of National Park Planning (Team Leader), Participatory Development, Rural Economics, Farming Systems, Community Liaison, Infrastructure Planning, and Tourism.
