Fourth Fisheries Project
Bangladesh, South Asia
The project worked to develop positive and constructive relationships between IDA, DFID, community based organisations and the Government of Bangladesh to promote the equitable management and development of the aquatic resources of Bangladesh and support the livelihoods of poor people dependent on fisheries resources.
Emphasis was placed on the involvement of fishing communities in key decision-making processes and the establishment of sustainable co-management arrangements involving the GOB and CBOs. The project was jointly funded by the World Bank and DFID. (2000 - 2005)
