New Chief Executive Officer for the Economic Empowerment of the Poorest Challenge Fund - Bangladesh

Photio by John Woolner - Colin RisnerHarewelle is pleased to announce the appointment of Colin Risner as our new CEO for the Economic Empowerment of the Poorest Challenge Fund (EEP) or shiree, as it is popularly known in Bangladesh.  Colin takes up the position with immediate effect.

Colin Risner has many years of experience as a development consultant, spanning all of the key experience fields and competencies required for the shiree CEO position.  He has worked successfully at senior levels of Bangladesh Government, with NGOs, with grant fund management and has considerable experience of working with DFID. Specific Bangladesh experience includes four years as team leader of a large multi donor funded project which included a competitive grant fund sub component; supporting an organisational change and development process for a medium sized Bangladesh NGO. Other work includes leading a local team to facilitate new thinking in the field of agricultural research as well as leading several donor project and programme evaluations. 

In all cases Colin has been in the team leadership position working with a diverse mix of local and international experts with his responsibilities encompassing project management, strategic analysis and policy advice, oversight of monitoring and evaluation, liaison with senior counterparts from government, funding agencies and other partners (civil society, private sector) and programme budget responsibility.
 
Colin has been working for some time as a freelance consultant and during that time has completed various assignments for Harewelle/PMTC and we at Harewelle have grown closer to Colin, appreciating his hard work and commitment to whatever he takes on.
