Themes at the Conference are as follows:

- Policy processes and institutions
Interested candidates from semi-arid regions of Africa working in any of these fields are invited to submit a proposal to be considered attend one of three pre-conference events, which are being organised on a regional basis, focused on East Africa, West Africa and Southern Africa. These events will serve as both stand-alone technical events and an opportunity to make a final selection of around 30 representatives from Africa who will go on to present at ICID+18 under the DFID-supported programme.
Further information of the event and the DEW Point process are outlined in the summary DFID DEW Point support to African participation in the ICID+18 conference.
