Faith in Water: DEW Point contribute to first international multi-faith water conference

DEW Point’s Cara Flowers co-authored a paper with Stephen Young, DFID’s Senior Water and Sanitation Adviser on the topic of water, sanitation and hygiene promotion (WASH) in schools for a recent international multi-faith water conference held in Salisbury, UK from 5-7 July 2009.

The conference was organised by the Alliance of Religions and conservation (ARC), the Dutch Ecological management Foundation (EMF) and the International Water and Sanitation Centre (IRC). It brought together international agencies and institutions alongside faith based organisations to coordinate water and sanitation activities.

New partnerships were forged between faith-based organisations and international agencies with the aim of exchanging skills and information and building networks. Further information on the conference can be found in the WASH International news article.
