Simon Phafane (Operations Director of PMTC Lesotho (PTY) Ltd - Lesotho)

Simon was appointed as a founder director of PMTC Lesotho (Pty) Limited and is currently providing technical assistance to the Harewelle managed Poverty Reduction Strategy Priority Support Progamme funded by DFID. Simon  also provides in-country support to the DFID funded Lesotho Revenue Authority Support Project and the EU funded Capacity Building for Economic Planning Phase II Project.

Simon comes from a public service background. He was Senior Private Secretary to His Majesty King Moshoeshoe II and subsequently Principal Secretary for the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Lesotho Government for five years. In 1991 Simon was appointed as CEO of the Basotho Enterprises Development Corporation (BEDC) and succeeded in restructuring the organisation through the implementation of effective finance and management systems.

Simon is currently the President of the Lesotho Chamber of Commerce and the In-country Representative for the countries of Denmark and Finland.
