Mark Johnston (Finance Director & Company Secretary - UK)

Mark joined PMTC International in 2003 as Finance Manager.  He is now the Finance Director for the merged Harewelle group and his responsibilities include taking the lead role in the financial strategy and financial management functions  Mark manages a team of accounts personnel within the UK office and provides support for the overseas offices.

He has a wealth of experience in managing and administering complex project funding mechanisms for major donors including both DFID and the EU.  Mark has been instrumental in developing the financial management systems put in place by Harewelle on a number of their overseas projects and more recently implemented the financial management systems for the £65M flagship ‘Shiree’ project in Bangladesh.  As Company Secretary he also ensures that Harewelle meet their legislative requirements.  Mark also provides strategic oversight on Harewelle’s information technology requirements ensuring Harewelle are at the forefront of international communication technology providing efficient links with the company’s overseas associate and project offices.

Mark has two decades of experience working within accounts environments spanning a number of various sectors including local government, manufacturing and service industries.  He is a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians and obtained an MBA in 2009 from The Open University.
