Duncan Rhind (Managing Director of PMTC (Zambia) Ltd - Zambia)

Duncan joined PMTC International in 2001 and until late 2008, had overall responsibility for business development activities of the merged Harewelle Group.

Formerly Business Development Director for the Harewelle Group, Duncan is now based full time in Lusaka as Managing Director of PMTC (Zambia) Limited. In this role he is responsible for the management of all the Group’s activities in Zambia.  He is currently Project Director for the EC-funded Project, Capacity Building for Private Sector Development as well as the company’s portfolio of ongoing work in Protected Area Planning and Management.  He remains a Director of Harewelle International, PMTC (Bangladesh) and PMTC (Lesotho) and still maintains an active input into the business development activities of the group, particularly in the southern African region.

Duncan comes from a technical background in agriculture and in particular plant protection,tsetse and locust control and continues to maintain a keen technical interest in this area.  Zambian-born, Duncan has worked in overseas development since first graduating in 1986 and has worked long term in Egypt, Sudan, Somalia, Zambia, Mali and the UK with considerable short term experience throughout much of Africa and Asia.  Duncan has broadened his expertise more generally into management and project management and in 2006 obtained his MBA from the Open University.
